Realme has officially confirmed that it will be present at the next Mobile Mobile Congress (MWC) 2020 technology exhibition that will be held between February 24 and 27 in Barcelona, Spain. According to the description of the Realme event, "Realme will organize its first global launch event in February 2020. The company plans to popularize cutting edge technology by promoting 5G networks worldwide through a 5G smartphone portfolio." The statement suggests the launch of at least one 5G smartphone at the event. The Realme event at the MWC will take place at 10 AM CST on February 24.
Despite having launched some 5G smartphones, 2019 did not witness the massive 5G launch as expected. The main problems affecting smartphone manufacturers were the lack of operator and hardware support. While most major operators only offered limited 5G connectivity, mass market modems such as the Snapdragon X50 were unable to comply with the brand.
The situation began to improve towards December 2019 with the launch of the Snapdragon 865 and 765G chipsets with the more conventional X52 5G modems. Manufacturers have already started using the new chipsets on the next smartphones. The Realme X50 5G scheduled to launch at MWC 2020 in February is perhaps the best example.
The Realme X50 5G is the most likely candidate as it is the only 5G smartphone in the Realme product catalog at this time. The Chinese company may reveal a completely new device with SD865 technology. Such a smartphone could be the successor of the popular Realme X2 Pro that was launched in October 2019.
A mysterious RMX2071 Realme phone with the Snapdragon 865 was seen on AnTuTu with the highest score. This could be the next Realme X50 Pro. According to a popular filter, the X50 Pro features a drilling camera with a 120Hz screen like the Realme X2 Pro.
Realme X50 5G Specifications and Price
The Realme X50 5G with Snapdragon 765G comes with 6GB / 8GB / 12GB RAM and 128GB / 256GB of native storage. The X50 5G flaunts a 6.57-inch FHD + IPS double punch LCD screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
In terms of optics, the smartphone has a 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GW1 primary sensor with an ultra-wide 8-megapixel lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with 2X optical zoom and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front, the Realme X50 has a 16 megapixel main lens along with a 2 megapixel wide angle lens. The smartphone consumes power from a 4,200 mAh battery with a VOOC 4.0 load of 30W.
If the Realme X50 5G is launched worldwide, it could be the cheapest 5G smartphone, as it costs around $ 360 in China. It remains to be seen if Realme X50 5G debuts with a different market in international markets.
