After making fun of a new audio product last week, Xiaomi has officially announced and Mi Outdoor Bluetooth speaker launches in India for Rs. 1,399 ($20). The new speaker is aimed at users looking for a compact and portable Bluetooth speaker that can last a long time. Despite its compact format, the speaker has a 2000 mAh battery that promises up to 20 hours of music playback.

The Mi outdoor Bluetooth speaker comes with a fabric finish on the outside, similar to what we've seen on smart speakers like Amazon Echo and Google Home Mini. Since it is for outdoor use, it has an IPX5 rating that makes it safe for your pool parties. Note that it comes with a 5W speaker that is decent for its compact size. But it is not suitable for playing music in a large space.

The Mi outdoor Bluetooth speaker is compatible with Android and iOS devices and is compatible with Bluetooth 5.0. It has a built-in microphone, which means it can also answer calls on the speaker.
The play/pause button and volume buttons are located on both sides of the speaker. It also comes with a MicroUSB port (which is quite unfortunate) and an AUX port. You can also access the voice assistant on your phone through the speaker.
The Mi Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker should ideally have been called a Bluetooth speaker for Mi trips due to its portable form factor and super-long battery life. The 5W output and 20 hours of battery life make it a practical speaker for your travels, but it is not powerful enough to play music outdoors.
The speaker is priced at Rs. 1,399 (~ $ 20) and is available on Mi.com.
